This page is a work in progress. Check back for updates.

People who want to become more informed about news and politics often ask me “what do you read?”/”what should I read?”  Here are my favorite and most trusted sites:

National Review Online aka NRO.  Simply, the best.  If you don’t have the time or inclination to read every word, read all the daily featured columns (all their best writers plus most of the best syndicated guys) plus their multi-author political blog The Corner.  (Beware the possible contraction of clickivitus:  severe wrist and thumb pain from repeatedly and obsessively refreshing The Corner to see what is said next.)  *Bonus:  NRO provides single-page print versions of all their columns.  I usually link to those pages because they load faster and have no ads to clutter them up (a service to my readers).  I wish every online publication would do this.

The Wall Street Journal aka WSJ.

Drudge Report.  If you need/want to quickly scan the most current headlines, this is a good site.  The front page loads uber-fast which is a huge plus for uber-hurried me.  The blogroll(s) are also worth scanning if you’re looking for click-thrus.

Instapundit. Glenn has an eye for the interesting and link-worthy.

Politico.  Well-staffed and well written.

Right Wing News.  John Hawkins runs this excellent multi-author blog.

*You may wonder why Townhall.com is not on my list.  Not that they care, because they get millions of unique hits, but it’s because their web pages take WAY too long to load and are WAY too junked up with ads.  In some cases, you have to click thru on 3, 4, or 5 pages just to read a single column.  I simply do not have that much time on my hands.  (Most of the better syndicated writers on Townhall are available elsewhere anyway.)
